I just got an email on our local community list entitled "'X' Concert: Tickets Selling Fast!" I can't help it but why do I get the distinct feeling that tickets are actually selling slowly?

...and because when tickets really are selling fast there is no need to advertise or expend efforts to publicize.

Reminds me of the album put out a few years ago by the Australian singer (Yumi??) where the publicity said that it was a best seller, when in actuality it had not even been released.
