Oy Bama

Not an auspicious start for the Messiah.

The stimulus plan is like the TSA.

Everyone knows it won't work but they make believe it will because they figure the public will be happy if the politicians do something (i.e., the mindless, easy thing) rather than nothing, and they are unwilling to put in the work to do the right thing.

With a 65% approval rating, Obama could have used the Republicans to craft a really targeted, useful plan but instead let the children, i.e., the House Democrats led by little Nancy Pelosi, loose.

This "plan" is a disaster.

Maybe Obama is not as smart as he thinks he is.

Obama is certainly not as smart as he thinks. Very few people are as smart as Obama thinks he is.

What really cracks me up about this stimulus package is that there was so much teeth gnashing and hair pulling after the bailout plan was passed. With the benefit of hindsight, many people realized that Congress acted too quickly, without deliberating and working out a thought out plan. And now, just a few months later, they are about to do the same thing! With idiots like Pelosi who think that 500 million jobs are being lost every month we don't have a stimulus plan, it's no wonder our country's economy is headed in the wrong direction.

Obama, from an intellectual standpoint, is no doubt smart. When it comes to the the kind of smarts needed to run the United States of America, well, that's a whole different story.

This crisis is a good example of how even the best of Presidents can not do the job alone, and if faced with opposition in Congress there are some things he can not do.

People have an over inflated expectation of Obama and that will reflect in the way history views his administration.
