Done UPDATED

In my business, to confirm that you've completed a trade, you say, "I'm done on the purchase of $X of ABC loan at Y%."

MHW and I just came back from Queens County Family Court.

We're done on the adoption of the Vance.

What could have been a formal, anticlimactic process turned into an extraordinary, moving moment because of the presiding judge who literally brought us all to tears.

Mazal tov. It's hard to believe. Thanks to so many. I will post much more later.

Hodu L'Hashem Ki Tov.

UPDATE: Here's a link to the first five posts about the Vance (f/k/a The Baby and f/k/a The Toddler)

MAZAL TOV! Wow. What a fantastic surprise on a Tuesday morning.

May she grow to Torah, mitzvohs, and maasim tovim, and continue to bring you all the nachas. Hey, and now you can bring her to Israel with you!

    MoC,
First let me wish you mazel tov on the adoption of your daughter.

Second, although we don't know the circumstances behind the termination of parental rights of the Vance's bio-parents, I'm sure today is also a bittersweet day.

Sending you lots of good thoughts today,
    AM

YAY!!! I lurk a lot and never post but I have been following the Vance for years and so had to write today. I also had to call my Mom from work today to let her know as she often asks if you have posted about her. Mazel tov to you and your whole family!! Observant Jews like you and your family are a great Kiddush HaShem.

Can you make sure to remember to tell us about the judge?

Thanks to all for your kind wishes both here and through email.

I am trying to get a transcript of the Judge's words. At a minimum, one of the people from Ohel who was at the hearing was taking notes and I will try to get them.

3:56, it was not a bittersweet day. It was only sweet. The bittersweet day happened on January 31st when we worked out an arrangement with the birth mother. That was very, very sad. (I posted about it in early February). But thanks for your good wishes and concern.
