    Shavua Tov!

Just what I wanted to see the evening before I do the Ramapo Rally - 127 miles, gradients up to 20%, 90 degrees, humid, possible thunderstorms. Does it get any better? Wife and daughter are doing the 62 miler.

In amateur racing if you take both hands off the handlebars at ANY point (even after crossing the finish line)you are automatically disqualified.

BTW I'm trying to organise a friendly ride in my area sometime on Labor Day weekend. The ride is tough - 73 miles, 5300 ft of climbing - but very scenic. Don't know if I'll be able to get everybody's schedules together. Would you be interested?

I'm in. The earlier the better. BTW, I'm going to have my tires changed today. I got flats in both tires after a 25 mile ride. I'm going back to kevlar.

BTW MoC, I changed my first flat this weekend.

I bought two Michelins. There was apparently a tiny slash in the side of the rear tire.

    Steve

    How'd the ride go?

Did the Ramapo Rally. 128 miles, thankfully cloudy with no rain. Pretty tired. Have surgey tomorrow am - did the ride with the anesthesiologist who will be assisting me. Do you envy my patients? Had my 2nd flat-what can you do. Wife and daughter finished the metric.

I'll work on next weekend's ride and keep you informed. Dealing with all the personalities (plus their spousal demands)is not pleasant - I'll see how it goes. Fortunately my wife also rides and realizes that the stress I blow off cycling would be rather unpleasant to keep bottled in (unfortunately for her I don't have your "gutskeit"). Are you limited to either Sunday or Monday?

BTW which tires have kevlar? Aren't they heavy? Armadillos are quite weighty.

    didn't get kevlar

    just basic michelins.

I can ride any day this week. My market is pretty much shut down so I am very flexible.
