couldn't agree more. we're getting people more into debt and taking perfectly working cars and destroying them. this makes sense how?

To the contrary, it's one of the better programs that Washington has recently produced.
It seeks to improve vehicle gas efficiency while stimulating sales, at a modest cost to the American taxpayer.
At least give them an E for effort.

It takes $4500 from taxpayers and gives it to another taxpayer who happens to own an old car. It then requires that the owner of the old car destroy the old car (which may be working perfectly well) so that he can buy another, newer one. Makes a lot of sense.
