Elul: A Time For Reflection and Calendars

I don't know about you, but yesterday's mail brought another two Jewish Year calendars, bringing my aggregate take for the Elul zman to about 14.

Public Service Announcement to Kollelim...

If you want to distinguish yourselves, think outside the box. Most of the calendars, and the attached letters, go right into the circular file.

Here's an outside the box charity! We got a 2 page laminated booklet for Tashlich and it didn't make the circular file!

Want to really think outside the box? Get a job and support the few who actually should be learning.

    To the last 3 anons:
Actually, when Mashiach comes it will be the other way around. Those who work now will be learning the whole day.

Maybe, maybe not. Many say that even after Mashiach the "natural order" of the world will remain the same.

I didn't say anything about the natural order of the world. All the sources I have seen indicate that we will be learning all day with the non Jews supporting us.

Well, they aren't trying to distinguish themselves. I know the organization I work for gets the calendars for a dollar a piece. We sell advertising space inside the calendar and make about $8,000 on the ads. So the calendars cost us $3500 and we make $2500. The fact that most of them will be thrown out doesn't really factor into the equation...

What ticks me off the most is that we donate to one fund and they turn around and start selling our info to some mailing list.
