JIB Awards and MoC

This will be a short post.

You will notice that there is no link to the JIB Awards voting site because, once again, the Mo'ster hasn't been nominated in any of the 6,000 categories. In other words, none of the 300 or so readers who frequent this space on a daily basis felt compelled to take the minute or so to go over to JIB and nominate me.

But I'm not bitter.

(What amazes me is that, with the exception of the obvious ones, I have absolutely no idea who most of the nominees are. Who has time to read all that stuff?)

Perhaps if there had been a category like "Best Blogger Over The Age of 50", or "Best Narishkeit Blog", I would have had a chance.

    Mo,

For the most part, other blogs' readers aren't nominating them either.

The nominees are the bloggers themselves nominating, voting, and giving themselves awards.

That's part of the 2007 JIBs scandal.

Had you nominated yourself like the others did, you too, could have self-awarded yourself like the others.

Doesn't sound like you. Are you being sarcastic? With all of the incredible chassadim that you and your family do are you really concerned with some trivial petty award (that I never even heard of)?

    Steve

I am being sarcastic. I specifically waited until the nominating period was over to post cause I don't want people to think I care.

    On the other hand....

You are the winner of the OBTPSR (The Only Blog That Psycle Steve Reads)Award. The narishkeit is exactly what I enjoy, sort of an orthodox "Seinfeld" blog. The serious, depressing stuff with their endless circular arguments I can get anywhere. It takes real skill to post interesting narishkeit.

    Feel better?

The word "scandal" is too strong for something as insignificant as the jibs.

FWIW, this blog is hard to really pinpoint into any category, with Personal being the closest... I'd also guess that you have a bit of a niche and many of your readers don't read many other blogs, and may not have been aware of the awards. Finally, a few of your readers weren't allowed to nominate blogs because they're part of the JIB committee.

Finally, the JIBs are more for fun and exposure than the awards themselves. People discovering blogs like (say) Ha'azina Tefilati which may help some people is way more important than any award.

I nominate you for Best Toddler Blog (and since my own blog is a toddler blog, you should be honored). How's she doing? (I do read the other posts--except the ones about sports, which I mostly find incomprehensible--but I am always hoping for TT updates.)

Stay tuned. Next week TT turns two. We will have a gala celebratory TT post to mark the milestone.

Sorry if you were offended/upset. Some of us don't take them very seriously, or don't have the time to give them much thought.

You're still tops in my mind.
