WQ Alert: The Stairway Screamer

This morning as I was headed out of morning minyan, someone brought to my attention that there was a man screaming the morning Brachos in the shul's stairwell. Sure enough, I opened the door to the stairwell and heard someone screaming out to the One Above at the top of his lungs.

While this is the first I heard of the stairwell screamer, it has apperently been going on for a while.

One could ask, "why us", but that would be a silly question. We are a weirdo magnet. That's just the way it is.

It's not that your minyan is a weird magnet. It's just that HKBH has rachmanos on all the weirdos.

It's like that old Lily Tomlin line about pairing off all the psychotic people in NY who talk to each themselves so at least they'll appear normal. Your shul is simply where the weirdos have been 'paired off' so that they won't stand out as much.

For every need there is someone or somewhere to fill it.

LOL. That is weird. But who am I to judge. If that guy was sincerely talking to Hashem and he felt the need to yell, then at least he was considerate enough to go to a relatively private place so that he didn't disturb other people's davening.

    What WQ did he get?

ohhh hes a 10. though hes not off the charts the way other people are. Your shul is like the 9:45 minyan at the kotel, which shows how succesful the shul is, bc you dont daven at 9:45.Brad

The first Shabbat I ever spent in Israel I davened on Friday night at a Karlin/Stolin yeshiva. The davening was done with everyone screaming at the top of his lungs. Maybe that's where this guy comed from?

The why us can be answered with one word. Breslov.
Any Rebbe-less "chasidus" atracts and winds up encouraging lunacy.
